You will need:
– Germination tray
– Good quality medium, learn to make it here
– A wide container which is around 2 – 3 ft. deep and 2 – 3 ft .wide. You can use fruit carats if on budget.
– Organic fertilizer.
– Organic bottle gourd seeds.
Now fill the germination trays with low ec cocopeat and put one seed per cavity. water well and keep in dark place indirect sunlight. once the seeds start to germinate slowly expose them to light.
In 10- 15 days they’ll be ready for transplanting.
If you are growing in container then make sure to mix all the ingredients of medium and fill your container, keep it in a bright and sunny spot for your gourd vines to nourish and grow to their fullest.
If you are growing your gourd in earth then make sure the selected area is well drained and receives full sun.
Transplant your seedling.
Keep it moist, keep checking for new growth or any intruders.
Once a week add organic fertilizer rich in phosphorus and nitrogen in the soil.

Companion plants to grow with sponge gourd : it would be wise to grow bottle gourd in a single container or at an exclusive spot, Although you can surround other vines from Cucurbitaceae family but ensure the distance and keep feeding your soil for additional nutritional supply!
