Bringing soil science
to the farmer's doorstep.
A mobile soil testing van that travelled farm to farm across Punjab, Haryana, and Himachal Pradesh — testing biology, chemistry, and structure. Free education camps. Real-time reports. India's first initiative of its kind.
We took the lab
to the farmer.
Soil Yatra began with a simple observation: farmers across Punjab, Haryana, and Himachal Pradesh were making every decision — what to sow, how much fertiliser to apply, why yields were falling — without ever having seen what was living in their soil. The standard government test gives three numbers. Healthy soil has thousands of variables.
So we brought the lab to them. A custom-fitted mobile van, fully equipped for three-level diagnostics — biology, chemistry, and physical structure — travelled farm to farm. At each stop, results were explained in the local language, with specific input and practice recommendations given on-site. No courier, no waiting, no complexity.
The Yatra was flagged off by the Hon. Governor of Punjab and Chandigarh — a recognition of what it represented: not just a soil testing drive, but a shift in how the state thinks about farm intelligence.
The Yatra was officially launched with the Governor's flag-off — marking it as a state-recognised initiative for farmer soil health.
Most farmers had never seen a microbial count, a fungal-to-bacterial ratio, or an organic carbon reading. We showed them what was alive in their land — and what wasn't.
Farm after farm, one truth repeated itself: farming is hard work. Good food takes time. But the market pays the same price for chemical-grown produce as it does for carefully grown food. Nobody pays for the effort. Nobody pays for the nutrition.
At the Hoshiarpur Citrus Estate, Komal was presented with a recognition for her work on the Yatra — acknowledged by the President of India for her contribution to grassroots agricultural innovation.

Soil Yatra 2025 has concluded. At the Hoshiarpur Citrus Estate, Komal received a recognition for her work on the Yatra — appreciated by the President of India for her contribution to grassroots agricultural innovation in India.
The work the Yatra demonstrated — taking three-level soil diagnostics directly to farmers, free of charge, in their language — continues through Greenaffair's ongoing field programs and soil testing services. If you want to bring this work to your region or institution, reach out.
